The effects of Jerry were strongly felt in Guadeloupe.

The night was heavily watered (or drenched) with rain, the wind blew strongly with gusts reaching 100 km/h in some places, and the sea was very rough.

Many roads are impassable this morning. Schools remain closed and residents are advised to stay home.

Improvement is expected this afternoon.

Also reported is a cargo ship run aground on a beach.
