The upper Keys will be experiencing tropical storm conditions with heavy seas and winds to 30 mph. Thunderstorms and winds are forecast today through tomorrow night. Extreme caution is in order on local waters. Dorian is stalled over the northern Bahamas and there are still questions about a possible Florida landfall as it slowly turns to the north. Our thoughts are with our neighbors in the Bahamas.

The Florida Keys are gray and rainy with shards of sunshine and light winds right now. Roads are unusually quiet and the air is heavy. Our hearts are heavy also as our good fortune with this storm (so far) is muted by the attack on our close neighbors in the Bahamas. The videos from residents are heart breaking, a reminder of how quickly paradise can flip your self assurance and confidence and comfort level. Tonight we in the Keys will see a sun set on the western horizon...our friends in the Abacos will be looking for family and pets and their homes.
