It has been such a long time since I posted.  Today seemed a very appropriate day to reach back out to everyone.  Here we are on the year anniversary of Hurricane Maria.  What a year (and what a mess). Ups, downs, funny moments, frustration, tears, laughter, community, togetherness and last but certainly not least PROGRESS!  Vieques is so beautiful again.  The views are bigger, the trees are greener, the bioluminescent bay is glowing, the birds are chirping, the beaches are spectacular and our coqui frogs are "coquiing".  It is a silly thing but we have a coqui frog outside our bedroom window.  We named him Marvin.  He is quite possibly the loudest coqui frog ever.  He doesn't chirp "coqui",  he screams "coqui".   Sometimes I want to coqui with him at the top of my lungs.  Why you ask?  Because that little frog is telling the world that Vieques is all right after that storm. That our household mantra after the storm was right.  At that time we said "We can do this, we will do this, we are doing this".  Now our mantra is "We have this, we are doing it and it is almost done".  That new mantra translated into the language of a dime sized frog is "COQUI!!!!!!" and scream it at the top of your lungs).  Vieques is ready, ready when you are.  We cannot wait to see everyone soon.
K
PS-  It is so hot and we hardly have a breeze but I am not complaining (goodness no).  But a usual I sure wish we had a little rain for the garden.
PPS-  Please keep the folks down east in North Carolina in your thoughts.
