- Keeping an eye on Harvey !!!

Hi Everyone,

Margarita's conditions today are overcast with very localised light rain.

By the looks of the Satelite image, we should get a brushing of Harvey's most southern edge.

This should only be more persistent rain and maybe some squally shower with gusts.

I will as usual report any disturbed weather if we get any at all.

Happy Friday and take care...

Murray

Good morning Everyone,

The title says it all really, The tropical wave passing over us at the moment is giving very very rain with severe localized flooding around the island, The Wind is Light to Non-existent so that's a good thing.

We have had national alerts throughout this morning of Heavy Rains and Strong winds affecting the oriental coast but so far it's just been the Rain.

I am sure most of the island north of Margarita in the Caribbean are experiencing the same conditions.

Stay Safe and only venture out if you really have to.

Regards

Murray

Good Morning guys,

TS Bret has just started to pass over us me, it was a fairly noisy night with wind and rain bands passing through but it looks like we are in the main part of Bret now.

Sustained winds of around 25knots with gusts of 45knots, intermittent rain medium to heavy, the seaS are big and most fisherman are hiding away today, airport is closed and ferries cancelled.

I will report on anything later Once i hear the news, hope all is well over the island 🌴.

Stay safe everyone

Murray

Hi Guys,

The first band just came through with very strong winds and torrential rain, it has died off a little but still very dark to the SE, where the rest is coming from.

For sure the electricity will fail soon, so I will report as much as I can and give updates of how strong this storm really is, the first band had around 60 kph gusts, let's hope that's maximum but I have a feeling we have more to come.

Stay Safe everyone and get home NOW!

- Margarita Island is Preparing for Something!!!!

Good Morning Everyone,

Well, it's very unusual that we see local internal weather warnings before a storm can potentially affect us here on the Island of Margarita, Nueva Esparta, Venezuela.

Our Authorities are seemingly more worried about this potential TD than of any other before that has potentially threatened us as they have already mentioned it on the social media and local news.

Living here on the island of Margarita for 18 years I can almost predict exactly what will happen to this threat as it has happened every single time before. The TD will be met by the NE mainland coast of Venezuela and be broken apart and no life-threatening conditions will affect us, BUT...in saying that, this is the closet I have seen a storm track to us since the Hurricane Ivan in 2005 if I am not mistaken.

I will be monitoring the progress of this system and keep StormCarib updated of any news I may be able to bring. Today the weather is Hot with sunny spells and it's very humid, with big Cumulus Nimbus clouds in the South East.

I hope my predictions are correct and this system gets ripped apart by Venezuela mainland and will pose no more threat to the islanders in its path.

GOD SPEED.

Regards

Murray

Hi From Margarita,

The Rainy season has started almost like someone has turned the switch, from the 1st of June we started to have overcast skies with intermittent rain although it was light but this morning we have some proper downpours, but to be honest, it's lovely to get rain finally, as long as the big storms are good to us this high season and spare our brothers and sisters on the other islands.

Have a Happy weekend everyone, time to have a coffee and listen to the rain.

God Speed

Regards

Murray

- Overcast for the first time in months.

Hi Everyone,

I send a big hello out to all the Caribbean guys and gals and hope all is well.

The weather today is dry but overcast, the temperature is awesome, just love it when it's like this and also the wind has given us a welcome break for a day or so as it's been nuclear strong for the past 3 months solid, great for all the windsurf and kitesurf enthusiasts.

Looks like we may get some sprinkling of rain in the next 72 hours, would be nice for sure as its always welcome.

Happy 1st of May and look forward to posting more this year

Best Regards

Murray
