Good Morning everyone,

Well that was a very wet night,we are in Mop-up mode at the house just now, from what i can see around 20-30mm of rain in just 4 hours...still haven't heard any news from the mountains on the other side of the island normally with that amount of rain it's very bad with flooding rivers and landslides..will report back if i hear anything.

Weather at the moment on Margarita is overcast to the west and birghter to the east ,the satelite image is showing the blob which passed right over us,moving slowly to the west...Look out the islands A.B and C it looks like your next....i think we may get some more rain before this is over..

Take care everyone and stay safe...

Hi There,

This photo attached was yesterday where I had to stay for 2 hours until the
water level went down in one of the main streets of Porlamar,Margarita. The
Showers were very sudden and very slow moving because of no wind so they dumped
almost all there rain on top of us and one time..now the problem with the
flooding is that the goverment don't maintain the drains and keep them
unblocked and this is what happens within minutes of a downpour..yesterday was
more extreme than usual...I saw about 100 cars water logged..

The weather today again with NO wind and a few clouds bubbling up from the east
let's hope not a repeat of yesterday but for me I am not heading into Town
today...so a day on the beach with friends.

This coming week the forecast is predicting that the low will weaken and
disperse or move away N.W and we will have our trade winds back..

Please..I want to go kitesurfing this week..give us our trades back.

Happy and safe Sunday..

Murray

Hi Everyone,

Well the trade winds are back for now on Margarita island because we have no immenent storms close by,very, very good news for all those kitesurfers and windsurfers.

The weather today is light to moderate easterlies forecasted to increase in the afternoon, clear sunny skies and around 35 degrees.....PARADISE...

Will be in touch soon if or when anything changes...that shouldn't be for at least a week or so...clear as a bell in the Atlantic for now,but the season still isn't over and i do beleive we will be in for a lively end of October...

let's see..hope not..

Windy Regards..Murray

- Watch out!!

Hi everyone,

I advice anyone between 14 to 17 degrees north on the islands to start using
the "How close can it get to you" tool and watch your backs quite literally,if
Maria turns into a Monster she'll be on you before you know it...Saturday!!!!

Please start taking precautions now and I know you are all pro's at this
compared to us on Margarita...so I probably don't have to tell you, but please
take care everyone..let's hope the storm takes a dramatic turn to the North.

Weather today on Margarita was trade winds as usual with us kitesurfers rippin
it up on the water, unfortunately friday and Saturday looks like the wind will
drop but another swell is on the way soon from "soon to be" Hurricane
Maria...surf's up.

Keep eye's peeled to the east and stay vigilant everyone..this could turn out
nasty.

- Katia's Surf is Up....wicked.

Hi everyone,

We finally received amazing surfing conditions from T.S/Hurricane
Katia...thanks for that...

Unfortunately the Coastguard closed the beaches around Margarita island due to
strong currents and big wave set's.

It left furious surfers not agreeing with the decision as they/we wait all year
for these few months of waves and enjoy the surf.

The Beaches are open now and so we have all been in the water to finally get
our wave fix, surfing,SUP'ing(Stand Up Paddle),Boogey boarding and kayaking
....awesome session.

The weather today on Margarita is sunny and clear with a variable light
S.Easterly wind blowing, but I have more faith for the Wind this coming
week, the tradewinds are back for Kitesurfing as my wife Adriana will be put
through her paces learning to Backloop..bring it on..

Take care everything and keep your eye's peeled to the east..

Stay safe..

Hi Everyone,

My feelings go out to the Bahamas for there destruction of many
beaches,Roads, restaurants etc etc...hope you all recover quickly.

Our Trade Winds are returning on Sunday but not before we have a few more
thunder storms being pulled off Mainland Venezuela...possibly tonight into

Hi Everyone,

Well it looks more than likely now that the east coast of the US will be
impacted by Hurricane Irene, but It was just a matter of time before this calm
was broken.

Well Margarita today is experiencing hazy sunshine with flat calm or very, very
light southerly winds. We have a very small swell coming in so I imagine on the
northshore the surfers are happy, because I can tell you the Windsurfers and
Kitesurfers are not but that's nature for you, anyone for another game of
Backgammon.

Will keep you updated if the Rains come on Wednesday like they have been
forecasted..

Trade wind please..

Hi Everyone,

Well we have had a great day of wind and sun dis-regarding what the forecast
said but only in the last 2 hours the sky has blackened and looks heavy and
ready to dump some rain on us,but these showers are fairly normal over the
mainland Venezuela and this one is only closer than usual, but I have twice seen
them come over us and the wind direction changes instantly to the south and
strong squall comes through..

Anyway, hope we do get some rain so I don't need to water the garden tomorrow..

Stay safe eveyone..

- Good trade Wind

Hi everyone,

I have lived and kept a close eye on the weather here down on the Island of
Margarita for 12yrs now and you can always tell when there isn't really any
significant storm effects this year so far because we are receiving such great
easterley trade winds..August has been brilliant so far for teaching
kitesurfing, but not so good for the Garden very, very little in the way of Rain
again very unusual..We were expecting a change in the Wind direction with rain
but now the predicted storm has fissled out we are straight back to great winds
and no rain.

Ok Will report soon if there is any change...or actually something to talk
about..

Fly high...

Hi Everyone,

It's been along time since I last posted any weather news.I was in
Scotland on my Honeymoon for almost 2 months and apart from the crumby
climate as usual we had a great time.

Well our Area of the Carribean is very quiet at the moment which is
nice but as they say the Calm before the Storm.I have a feeling that
the worst is to come as we have had virtually no activity this year.

Margarita has today light and variable wind with it's own Micro
climate preducing cumulunimbus over the mountain so I imagine a little
drenching in the afternoon and as usual a beautiful sunset.

Will keep the posts coming more regular as I am sure it is going to
get dangerously exciting soon..

Stay Safe everyone..

Murray Sampson.
