Well, I've never in my life seen this much rain.  On my way to school this am, they were moving boats off the bayroad! The water is over parts of the road now, so it's unsafe to use the bayroad...and the rain just won't stop.  Sometimes it lets up, and you think you might see the sun, and then it's raining so hard you can't see ten feet in front of you.  We now have a water advisory, not safe to drink, because it has overflowed the treatment.

The ocean looks mean....

Hmm..time for a good book and the bed...if only I didn't have to study!

Well it's the rainy season for sure.  Last week we got rain daily and lots of thunder storms.  The island is so green.  It's a rainy day again today, but so worth it as we watch the island green up, the colors come out and the cruise ships sail into port.  Has cooled down here substantially in the last week and is now quite comfortable!

Hey all!
Well, had some lovely much needed rain blow in last nite.  It started with a nice thunderstorm, lightening bolts into the ocean.  This morning, it gave me enough time to get to class before it decided to open up again.  Rumor has it the ghouts were really running and cars were questioning the safety of driving through one that was backed up on the main road.  Now it's just really humid out and the rain has stopped.  The island is very green...much needed rain has finally fallen..and we are almost out of hurricane season!

EVERYTHING IS NICE AND WARM IN ST. KITTS...HAVE HAD SOME RAIN. THINGS ARE REALLY BEGINNING TO LOOK GREEN.  HAVEN'T SEEN THE ISLAND THIS GREEN IN A WHILE.  LOOKING OUT MY WINDOW, THE SEA IS SO CALM,IT APPEARS AS AN ICE RINK...SMOOTH AS GLASS...PALM TREES ARE STILL......IT'S GONNA BE A HOT ONE.  THERE ISN'T ANYTHING AS BEAUTIFUL AS SITTING ON YOUR FRONT PORCH AND SEEING NOTHING BUT SEA AND A HORIZON.  LET'S PRAY THAT THE HURRICANE SEASON IS COMING TO AN END....I STILL REMEMBER LENNY BITING US AT THE END OF NOVEMBER...SO ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE.  BE SAFE...HAVE A GOOD DAY....

Hi to all..

Well, here in normally beautiful SUNNY and HOT St. Kitts, it's rainy and cool today.  Results of a tropical wave I'd guess.  Ocean looks mean as the high tide has come in, haven't had time to go to the Atlantic Side to check that out...(exams!)...We needed this rain so badly, I've asked all the locals I've seen today what they think about it, and everyone has replied, can we have a few more days like this?

Hope it greens up!

Yet another day here on St. Kitts for beautiful sunshine.  Had a few brief showers to some parts of the island yesterday, but overall things appear to be pretty dry again.  We could use another rainy day or two to wet things down.  Breeze at nite is kicking up that last few nites, thank goodness!

As an East Coaster, from Maryland, down here in Hurricane territory, I'm asking for prayers for people who weren't as fortunate with Isabel as we were.  My parents and friends in Maryland/VA/NC do not have power, water and many have some pretty severe structural damage.

Last nite in my being awake watching news, I did hear that we are all going to luck out, because they don't expect any more storms this season!

Welll, I took a drive over to the other side of the island yesterday after having our adoption day for all the stray animals on the island, and found some good sized waves on the Atlantic side.  Even the surf on the Carib. side of the island was up a bit.  We are very lucky though.  Hopefully it won't hit the states either!  We did get some needed rain yesterday.

WELL, ISABEL IS PAST US...HAD SOME RAIN HERE AND THERE...WINDS PICKED UP...WHICH WAS GOOD, SEEING THE SEA LOOKED AS IF YOU COULD ICE SKATE ON IT...THEY WERE SO CALM.  ALL IN ALL, YOU COULD SAY, THERE WAS NO EFFECT AT ALL ON ST. KITTS.  LETS HOPE MOTHER NATURE MOVES ISABEL A BIT MORE NORTH....THEN NO LAND MASS AT ALL WILL BE TOUCHED....BUT NEW YORK.....AND THEY DO NOT EXPECT ISABEL INTENSITY TO REALLY LOWER THAT MUCH....I'VE NEVER SEEN SUCH AN EYE.  HAVE A GOOD AND SAFE DAY.....FOR ALL OF YOU IN WESTERN NY....GO BILLS.....

FIRST OF ALL...LET'S ALL TAKE A SECOND TO REMEMBER THOSE OF SEPTEMBER 11TH AND THEIR FAMILY WHO ARE STILL TRYING TO SURVIVE THAT HORRIBLE DAY.
THOSE OF US IN THE NORTHERN CARIBBEAN ARE SOOOOOOO LUCKY NOT TO HAVE ISABEL COME OUR WAY.  ISABEL BRINGS BACK VISIONS OF GEORGE...EXCEPT GEORGE WAS COMING DIRECTLY AT US.  THE MEMORIES OF GEORGE STILL GIVE ME CHILLS.
HOPEFULLY, THE NORTHERN TURN, TALKED ABOUT, AS THE RIDGE WEAKENS, WILL KEEP ISABEL AWAY FROM ANY LAND MASS AT ALL.
AS ALWAYS, HAVE A SAFE DAY.

Hiya all..

As of about 7am, we are just having some rain and gusty winds. Last nite, the
wind howling around my house (doesn't have to be that bad to howl quite loudly)
was pretty loud...and we had some rain showers, but I think we've dodged a
bullet yet again, thankfully! The sky is pretty ominous looking...and the wind
still looks to be kicking, but I think we are good to go on this storm!

getting pretty heavy looking...water moving at a good clip. The University has

Probably will not have power tonite/tomorrow...so will try to get one more

GOOD AFTERNOON....JUST GOT BACK FROM THE STATES...GOOD TO SEE A GREEN ISLAND UPON MY RETURN.  THE WEATHER UP NORTH, WAS STILL COLD, WITH A LARGE AMOUNT OF RAIN.
ST. KITTS IS VERY OVERCAST...SEEMS LIKE MORE RAIN APPROACHING....HAD A GOOD DOWN POUR YESTERDAY.
FOR THE PARENTS OF VET STUDENTS...THEY ARE ALL DOING WELL...EVERYONE HERE IS SAFE AND SOUND.

Hi...good to be back...I think...hope the experts are just exaggerating a bit about this season....hope everyone has a safe season.
St. Kitts has been horribly dry and hot.  We need a cloud to open for about 3 days straight.
Parents of vet students ...they are fine...I am the Caribbean Distributor for a new rum made in St. Kitts..Brinley Gold Vanilla Rum.....the students love it..hopefully, they will bring some home on their break.
Stay tuned for another fun filled season.

HOT, HOT, HOT...AND  DRY.....is the forecast for St. Kitts.  Boy, do we need some rain...cattle are skin and bones, everything is brown....this island could burn up in a heart beat.  Hopefully, our hurricane season is better than anticipated...at least one down...hope the rest do not come for a few months.
Parents of vet students...you children are fine !!!!!
