We live in the Florida Keys but came to Virginia Beach, Va. to take care of our Granddaughter.  Her Mother (our daughter) is a deputy sheriff and has to work during the hurricane.  Her Father (son-in-law) is on the USS Ronald Regan and he
had to go to sea with the aircraft carrier.  They must be protested.  The weather is beautiful and people are going ready.
They don't know anything about hurricane shutters.  More later....

We made it!!  No hurricane.  The hurricane shutters are all up on our condo now.  The sky was beautiful tonight.  A friend called it "baby's bottom pink".  The  setting of the sun was unbelievable with such colors.
Good Luck Bermuda -- we are thinking of all of you.  Having been thru hurricanes I know how they must feel right now.
God Bless.

Raining in the Florida Keys today.  A small build-up came at us from Cuba.
Thunder and Lightning everywhere and inches of rain.

Well the tropical low came thru the Florida Keys but here in Marathon we got maybe 1/4" of rain.
The clouds are beautiful.  Even looks like the sun may come out.

All is well in the Florida Keys as we await what could be a VERY busy Hurricane Season. We have already suffered a minor scare with "CLAUDETTE" as it meandered off the Yucatan before heading WNW. We especially watch storms that form right along the Latitude 10 degree line for early signs that we may get visited by one of "Georges" (1998) cousins, again.
As you may or may not know, ALL of the Florida Keys will be put under mandatory evacuation orders once it is deemed a storm will build to above catagory 2 status.
Hope everything is well otherwise and hope to send you reports in the near future.

Sincerely,
Joey

All is well in the Florida Keys. We are hoping that the hurricane season is not as active as the National Hurricane Center is talking about.  We had an excellent week-end with the America Power Boat Races here in Marathon.  We sat in the very hot sun for 2 days to watch it. Fun!!
