Now 16:30 local time, 20:30 GMT (UTC)

Several short heavy showers (total rainfall so far today 15mm ie about 1/2
inch).

Now seems less likely the storm will hit here (Portsmouth on the North West
coast) as the Caribbean Sea looks to be too flat.

Currently no wind, no rain. Very peaceful.

Bye/P

General gossip here in Portsmouth is that we are due for a "Tropical Storm"
arriving here at 8pm tonight.

Bye/P

- Well it passed

The storm itself was pretty anticlimactic on the west side of the island.
It rained a lot, and we had an hour or so of pretty good wind. We had a
little lightning but as far as I could tell none of it was centered on the
island. I should make a correction to my last post though, the people that
were putting boards up were actually just putting the boards out so they
could get to them easily incase the storm got worse.

Just a quick email to let you all know what is happening. People are
starting to board up windows and such around here. I think my friends and I
are going to buy some beer and play cards for the duration of this storm
assuming it hits us. Ill try to post pictures and such afterwords. Right
now it is muggy and windy, raining intermittanly.

- Test, and general update

I figured that I would post this just as a general test to make sure I know
how this posting business works. It has been raining hard for the past 12
hours, we don't have much in the way of wind but this morning we've been
having lots of lightning and thunder. The rivers are swollen and brown, but
what I constantly find amazing is how much water the ground soaks up here.
As soon as it stops raining (unless it has been excessive) the ground dries
up real quick like and everything returns to normal.

The tropical depression that was supposed to hit us a few days ago never
materialized. I saw that it had been downgraded to a tropical wave but the
only weather we got was a few clouds. If people have specific things they
would like me to address when I post feel free to email me.

God bless,
Ethan
