Hello Everyone,

Today it's Hot again with Variable light wind from all directions, but tomorrow
looks like the last day of this then we are back into our easterly trade and
ready for some kitesurfing, and looks good right into next week, quiet on the
storm side for a while...great.

The C.N clouds are buidling over the mountains of Margarita and are ready to
dump their load at least over the high ground with localised flooding,we may
see a shower over our village but normally it dosen't reach us....Never say
Never though!

Hurricane Humberto is looking amazing, what a perfect shape, great circulation
it's as beautiful as it is because it may not cos any problems to land, let hope.

Take care ya 'all and I will be in touch.

Murray Sampson.

- Rain in the Forecast
  • From: margaritaxtreme at gmail.com
  • Date: Sat, 27 Jul 2013 19:23:18 +0000
Hello Everyone,

The forecast has been spot on so far,the wind was predicted to drop and switch
to the S.W which it did, then later heavy rain with thunder and lightening.

We always have these impressive C . Nimbus at this time of year and usually
pass east to west hugging the beginning of the Andes of venezuela mainland and
are famous for flash floods but when the wind changes to the south they are
blown over the sea to our island..

T.S Dorian is not going to cause any immediate problems to the leeward islands
but further on,something to keep n eye on.

The atlantic is starting to busy up and I think we will see more warnings
soon...take care.

- RAIN TONIGHT...!!!!!
  • From: margaritaxtreme at gmail.com
  • Date: Fri, 19 Jul 2013 02:13:51 +0000
Hello From Margarita Island,

It's been just kicking wind conditions for Kitesurfing and Windsurfing this
year and it just dosen't want to stop and follow the correct path of usual
weather for now, well we are definately not complaining at all....on the water
every day....Bring it on...!!!

Weather at this moment is Intermittent Heavy DownPours with Gusty winds, for the
rest of the night,i predict around 3am we will have the heaviest rain so not a
night to be out and about, but for sure there will be a few die harder's out
partying thats for sure until they see the sun come up...or will they, looks
pretty solid until dawn.

I have 15 years living in the Caribean ...and studying the weather on Margarita
island ,day in and day out, year in and year out, what i have noticed just simply
is that if Hurricane seasons that start slow and are generally very quiet with
little storm action, then they are normally the ones that will have all the
storms stacked up for August to November, and it's going to get very busy 4
months...You have been Warned, this season is going to get ugly....be
prepared.....

I am already talking to residents of Margarita that the Rains will come they
will come ALOT,we have had 3 years of very dry conditions during the whole
year, the time has come around again for our 4 year cycle of very wet weather
and maybe a possibility of a close call from a developing or already developed
Hurricane,Ivan proved to most Margarita dwellers that out island cannot be
excluded from the danger path, although it's about 99% we still do have that 1%
lingering...and Ivan was that 1....makes you think Huh!,it only takes one.....

Take care and Stay safe..

- No Wind but sunny!!!!!

Hello everyone from Margarita Island,

Our weather today is 35 degrees, calm but sunny,we had a good amount of rain
during the night and now no electricity this morning in our little Village of
El Yaque,i escaped the humid heat in the house by driving to our city of
porlamar to wash my car to kill some time,it's working so far, still no
electricity......

T.S Chantal is passing as the experts say approximately 50km north of Barbados
and so no immediate danger to them apart from heavy rain and thunder and
lightening, but for sure very squally conditions indeed,so take care you
Maritine people and your boats.

Margarita's forecast for later in the day is for scattered heavy thundery
showers but not mounting to anything as the storm is too far North, but we could
see some localised flooding over the mountain roads.

Take care and stay tuned to weather bulletins for your area,so many more storms
are on the way over from África this year...so take care.

God Speed

- A Big Hello From Margarita Island..

Hi Everyone,

I have been lagging behind with my reports this year from Margarita island only
because the weather has been amazing regarding the sunshine and Wind hours this
year so far and thier has been no need to alert anyone about anything bad so
far....BUT....

Today we have the beginning of the tropical wave arriving a little to the N.E
of Margarita island but really we are all still kiting around in a 25knot
easterly wind and loving it...Bring it on.

Forecast for the next 24 hours is intermittent rain showers with occasional
squalls(15 to 30 knots) in the rain showers but we will probably miss them as
we are tucked in behind mainland Venezuela but you never know ...right!...Never
say Never....!!!!

Hope all is well and we can glide through this hurricane season smoothly even
although they are forecasting an above average season.

Off to the water, will report later if the weather changes for the worse.

Photo is taken from my kite center on El yaque beach looking East...

Windy regards from Margarita..
